More Trails

Sunday morning was overcast, the water became a mirror. Moorage is limited to 72 hours. A $20 donation to the Princess Louise Conservation Society per vessel, per night is recommended. We gladly paid our dues which automatically makes you an honored member of the Society. We will proudly display our sticker!

Pairadice is on the left and Sygnes Argent is on the right. This pic is from Nita's collection.

Nita and Tom with their Ocean Alexander, Cygnus Argent  (GREAT people!)

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was build in a barn, by owners Clark and Nina (not pictured)

We have crossed paths with these guys a couple of times.
Clark and Nina told the story of spending 15 years building this trimaran in his barn in Sacramento. The three inch redwoods had matured and rather then take a tree down that was in the way of getting the boat out, they took down a wall of the barn. The trip transporting it and getting it launched was pretty interesting, too. After all, it is only 26 feet wide! They have been living aboard and cruising for eight years now. GREAT people.

John and I took the dingy out Sunday cruised the entire 4 mile inlet. Can't even describe how beautiful it is!

Never learned what this was.

Waterfalls everywhere!

You are welcome by this Totem at Malibu Camp

Malibu Camp is just one of many Young Life Christian Youth Camps for high school kids.
They have operated for over 60 years at this location and are in over 90 countries. The goal is outdoor activities, motivational programs, music and spiritual growth. The kids have the time of their life in these majestic settings and deluxe digs, learning they don't really need their prized technology after all. Many make life long friends from all over the world and actually come back to work here as leaders when as adults years later. Built in the 1940's "camp" has a long history with visitors from Hollywood and the White House. Have a look on the internet for more details.... It is a fascinating place. The usual turn over of summer camp groups average 500 students. A giant swimming pool overlooks Malibu Rapids kayaking, etc. There is even a doctor on sight. It's a three hour boat trip to bring the kids in. A super cool young man, named Nate, met us at the dock and gave us a tour with all the history.

Nate giving John all the history. I was taking all the pictures.

Back at the boat, Sunday was a very popular day at Chatter Box Falls.
Stretched our legs with yet another walkabout off the dock.
From the flybridge of Pairadice looking aft.
From the flybridge of Pairadice looking forward. And the boats kept a coming that afternoon. Last count 22 in all.
Monday morning there was quite the parade of many types of vessels leaving the inlet to carry on many individual various and diverse wandering. Us included.
