EXPLORING THE "SUNSHINE COAST" BRITISH COLUMBIA

We are currently exploring the "Sunshine Coast of Sechlt Peninsula. We've been to Halfmoon Bay and John Henry's through Welcome Passage, Smugglers Cove Marine Park, Secret Cove and are now in Pender Harbour at Graden Bay Marine Park. It is a small quaint marina with very friendly people, a chandley, bakery and such. I enjoy being able to "walkabout".
The weather has shaped up to my liking and we are moored with friends from California. They leave tomorrow, heading north to Alaska. Our destination is inland, east through the Prince of Whales Reach, Jervis Inlet, to Queens Reach, Malibu Rapids and finally Princess Louisa Inlet, where Chatter Box Falls is located. That will be another post as it will take several days to get there.

Harbour Master's Office

I have a route planning map and use Waggoner's Cruising guide that I use to keep track of things. Our fishing licenses are in place, I bought a monster fishing net today for salmon. We also purchased a "mac daddy" prawn pot. Looking forward to using that!  Need to make room in the freezer. But for now we are buying fresh prawns off the boat that just came in.

Sandy Came by for a visit and some doggie treats. I really like this doggie!

Local fishing boats, ready for prawns!

And cleaning snapping the heads off on the stern on Larry and Marcia's Nordhavn!
Marcia made finger puppets with the spiney things.
Thanks Larry, very nice fish cleaning table!

We save the heads for bait!

All Aboard..... Larry, Marcia and Sandy

Hale Kai leaving Pender Harbour after having a very nice visit for a couple of days. They head for Alaska.
