PORT OF KENNEWICK

Day 12 - Sunday June 3rd  Umatilla to Port of Kennewick navigating the McNary lock (88' lift) at the dam. Each lock keeps getting easier.

Our navigation aides.

McNary Lock (I think...it's kinds a blur now)

I have verified, this is June 3rd the McNary Lock.

Alaskan Sea-Duction leaving the lock.

Lunch in the pilot house waiting and waiting for the rail bridge lift heading for Kennewick.

Finally, we got the green light. It was a long wait. 45 minutes I think.

I will never tire of photographing all these amazing bridges in the PNW.

We were greeted on the dock on Clover Island in Kennewick by another Trawler Forum friend of the guys named Eric. He graciously helped with our starboard side ties at the guest dock behind the boat houses. $15 per night! He hung out a while and they guys swapped stories over cold ones while Kay and I got ready to go out to Cedars for dinner! Dam the bad luck! We highly recommend Cedars to anyone visiting the Washington Tri Cities.

This is why... the restaurant is called Cedars!

So many wowing sunsets!

Day 12 - Monday June 4th  Port of Kennewick - We received a special visit from our niece CJ (Carloynn Jennifer Cerul) who was driving from a visit in Vancouver, WA to her home in Moses Lake, WA. Kay and I took advantage of her chauffeur ability to help us get to the grocery store (definitely not within walking distance). We hung out all afternoon getting re-aquatinted. THEN enjoyed oysters, crab dip and wings while watching the LGK NHL finals at the Crow's Nest Bar and Restaurant over looking the river. AND the Knight won! Wonderful day!

Eating oysters with CJ watching the hockey game...FUN!

Day 13 - Tuesday June 5th  Joe and Glenda Cerul arrived in Moses Lake on their road trip from Pennsylvania! Kay and I walked the grounds of the Port and Yacht Club with Patches. Later we got together with Tom and Kay, Mike and Tina (other local mariner friends) for another dinner out at The Crow's Nest. Love it when that happens.

Lighthouse by the yacht club. It was locked, so we could not explore it.

We highly recommend the guest moorage. The dock masters made us very welcomed!

Patchie loves her walkabout!

Day 14 - Wednesday June 6th - The family arrived at the boat and we hosted a "Family Booze Cruise".... no the Captain didn't drink!  We had a blast and finished with a wonderful dinner at Cedars, here at the Port of Kennewick. After grabbing our overnight bags, we traveled by car up to Moses Lake for a wonderful family visit and got to spend some time with Dad.

An awesome gift from Joe and Glenda.

This beauty needs no caption!!!
